Christopher Uzzell
University of Sydney, NSW, Australia
Dr Christopher Uzzell is a geoinformatician and environmental health researcher whose work examines how environmental characteristics influence infectious disease dynamics, particularly environmentally sensitive diseases in resource-limited regions. He holds a PhD and is based at the University of Sydney’s School of Civil Engineering, contributing to the WISH Fiji (Water, Infrastructure, Sanitation and Health) project, which integrates climate resilience and public health within Pacific Island contexts.
His expertise spans geomatics, geospatial modelling, and environmental data analysis, with a focus on linking climatic variability, catchment-scale water systems, and disease risk. Combining technical proficiency in spatial data science with applied public-health insight, his research aims to produce actionable evidence for climate adaptation and health-system strengthening.
